Collection Description

These interviews were conducted to provide primary resources for Educating for Justice: A Brief History of John Jay College (1990) and Educating for Justice: A History of John Jay College of Criminal Justice (2004), Both books were combined into one volume Educating for justice: a history of John Jay College (2008) which features an epilogue of recent history.

This project was created in recoginition of the 25th (1988) and 40th (2004) anniversaries of the founding of John Jay College of Criminal Justice. The interviews were conducted by Gerald Markowitz, Distinguished Professor of History, John Jay College of Criminal Justice.;Interviews that are not digitally available are in the John Jay College Archives on VHS tapes and are available for viewing in the Lloyd Sealy Library by appointment with the Special Collections Librarian.
