Description
Oral history interview with John R. Dunne, member of the New York State Senate, 1966-1989, and head of the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice in the administration of President George H.W. Bush (1990-1993). The interview covers his role as a negotiator at the riot at Attica State Prison (1971); prison reform; his support of the Rockefeller Drug Laws and his later opposition to those laws; capital punishment; and his actions as head of the Civil Rights Division.
